the casket lottery- choose bronze
anyway, it's strange to think that two-thirds of this band are in coalesce. hailing from kansas city, missouri, the casket lottery established an impressive following, and toured the country after only being together a short while. the drummer was only sixteen years old in 1999, the year they recorded "chooze bronze." all the necessary components for that great midwest emo feel is present. perfect fall music. recommended for fans of mineral, texas is the reason, elliott, etc. get your sappy on, young blood.emo

earth- hibernaculum
seattle natives earth spearheaded the drone/doom genre in the 1990's. since then, they have metamorphosed into a different beast. their 2007 release "hibernaculum", revisits three songs from years past and refashions them with a rustic, almost country like feel. i can't help but associate this music to portraits of dust bowl farmers. earth takes you on a journey to a barren field. both eerie and depressing; an excellent soundtrack to enjoy while watching a sunburnt corpse be torn apart by vultures.drone/ambient
